How can I market my business for free?
A question I get a lot is “I’m on a low budget, how can I market my business for free?” theoretically, this is not difficult, it just takes time and practice. Take a look at our 4 ways to market your business!
Social Media
Social Media is the biggest FREE marketplace for businesses, all of your target consumers are online regularly. Are you taking advantage of this yet? If your answer is no, get on it!
With social media, consistency is key. The key to growing your pages and reaching out to new people is posting consistently and engaging all the time… engaging with your audience is a great way to get people talking about your brand, you can interact with users on a personal level from your business account which helps when it comes to building a following and sense of trust with the consumer.
Networking
Of course, everybody knows about networking events, they really are a great way to get more people to know you and your business on a personal and friendly level. Use meetup.com and Eventbrite to find relevant events that could benefit you, there is no point going to an event that is not industry relevant to what you are doing. When attending the events, try to leave with at least 3 good things from your time there, that may come in the form of connections made, opportunities opened up or leads generated. You never know until you try it, but if you focus on finding 3 positive outcomes from the event, you will do well in networking. Remember to take a whole heap of business cards!
Blogging
Blogging is another thing that everybody knows about but rarely does. A consistent blog on your website can make a huge difference in the amount of traffic visiting your site. Uploading a weekly blog and sharing it on all social media platforms is a great way to share your news and keep your customers up to date on what’s going on with your business as well as allowing new users to find your site and what it is you do! Make sure to write about things that would interest you, as well as your readers, you must be interested in the topic you are writing about! Also, make sure to write SEO friendly blogs, which leads to my next free advertising tip.
SEO
SEO, Search Engine Optimisation, is the marketing of your website through search engines. Allowing users to find your website much easier when searching for industry related topics. Using tools such as Moz and Spyfu, you can check what your competitors are ranking for and beat them to it. However, SEO is not a quick result strategy, a typical SEO outreach campaign could take 3-6 months before you start to see any significant results and beat the other websites to the #1 spot on the search engines.
I hope this has been some help to you in marketing your business for free. If you have any questions on the above topics, feel free to give us a call on 020 7101 2951 or email me at info@thewebsitedesignagency.co.uk Thanks!
